Dear Iowa (one final taylor poem)
variation of the first dear iowa, writen as a ballad for language arts

So young and just innocent
And yet so much in love
You and I were insepreble
Like the angels up above
You loved me more than anything
And didn’t want to go
But you knew you had to leave soon
Back to Iowa you’d go
And so I wrote:

Chorus: I’m lost and I’m cold and I need a hand to hold and I need someone here to tell me its alright its ok everything will make sense someday and I’m here for you whenever because I love you.

You told me that you’d miss me
And said you’d see my face again
Said youd always be there
Said youd alwaod enough
I wanted to be more
But I was too afraid to tell youys be my friend
But to me friend wasn’t go
As you walked right out that door
And so I wrote dear Iowa:
(Chorus)

But you held true to your promise
And back to Colorado you did come
You held me in your arms again
Told me I was the one
You kissed me oh so softly
And held me close to you
But seemed too to be too perfect
I wouldn’t belive it to be true
And so I wrote dear Iowa:
(chorus)

Though I knew youd have to go back again
And leave me here alone
I was afraid to face it
And my reality became thrown
I wanted to tell you I loved you
and needed you with me
But I was too late, you had left
I missed my opurtunity
And so I wrote dear Iowa;
(Chorus)
I missed you more than ever
And wanted to talk to you again
I wanted to say I loved you
And wanted this hurt to end
But you never came back to me
And I missed you more and more
I wanted you right here with me
As my life hit the floor
And so I wrote dear Iowa:
(Chorus)

But the pain only grew stronger
And I felt worse and worse
I thought that I was gonna die
Without seeing you first
I kept saying you would come back
But it didn’t seem to be true
And I though of what we used to me
When I was once with you
And so I wrote dear Iowa:
(Chorus)

and as the pain grew stronger
I began to cry
I wondered if you loved me
Like the day you said good bye
I wondered if you missed me
Or even remember me
I wonder if you know me
Or are you too blind to see
And so I wrote dear Iowa:
(Chorus)

Still I lie here wondering
If things will ever be the same
Will I ever see your face again
And hear you say my name
Will I ever get to be with you
And tell you how I feel
Or will I only dream of you
And never make it real
And so I write dear Iowa:
(Chorus)

Ill never know what could have been
If id told you how id felt
Ill never know why you left
And let me stay to melt
But until then ill keep thinking
And wonderin about you
But for now its just a fantasy
Of you lovein me too
And only in my dreams do you write back
Dear Colorado
